Warm and welcoming owner, delicious meals, comfy and clean Japanese-style rooms, provided information and called ahead to places.

Location great for those without a car - 5 minutes walk from the train station and good walking and cycling nearby. The hosts are helpful - they collected us from the station and took us back there for our early morning departure. They provided a taxi service so we could do the hike and found bike hire for us. Meals are good and copious, and very social. Thank you Taka-San ! This guy is lovely and you can really enjoy being in a traditional atmosphere ! You go to onsen to wash, he picks you up at the station, he cooks food for you, you talk and listen to jazz with him for the evening !. I really enjoyed my stay here ! One of the best places I have stayed in Japan !!

Traveler's Inn Asanebo offers a fantastic experience of Hokkaido's food and nature. The host, Taka, prepares delicious meals using fresh and locally sourced ingredients, giving guests the opportunity to try diverse Hokkaido cuisine. The traditional Japanese dining experience adds to the charm. Additionally, Taka is a kind and attentive host with fascinating stories to share. The inn's location near Akan National Park allows for exploration of the beautiful Caldera lakes.

I absolutely loved the traditional Japanese decor of Traveler's Inn Asanebo. The tatami mats and sliding doors gave the hotel a cozy and authentic feel. As a senior woman, I appreciated how accessible the hotel was. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed during my stay.

I would have liked to see more senior-friendly amenities. Perhaps a grab bar in the bathroom or higher toilet seats would have made my vacation even better.
